A Unique Celebration

Pallion invites you to celebrate the completion of the Pallion Garden Terrace.

Experience Pallion’s most significant philanthropic gift to date with an evening immersed in the arts, including the unveiling of a very special artwork and an electrifying dance performance by Brent Street. Afterwards, guests will enjoy a champagne and canapé reception and surprise musical performance from a leading international act.

The Pallion Garden Terrace

Designed by globally renowned landscape architect Kathryn Gustafson, the Pallion Garden Terrace is a beautiful outdoor space for all to enjoy. This public terrace is a defining feature of the transformed Art Gallery campus, located outside the northern facade of Naala Nura, the original Art Gallery of New South Wales building.

“The Art Gallery of New South Wales has always been an important space for our families. For us, the Pallion Garden Terrace represents the melding of the old and new, standing as it does between Naala Nura and Naala Badu.

"We value art in our everyday lives and are thrilled to support the Art Gallery in what we know will be a lasting philanthropic gift for the benefit of communities not just in New South Wales but throughout Australia.

"It is Pallion’s desire that this Terrace will become a dynamic setting for art.”

– Andrew Cochineas, Pallion CEO.

A DEFINING MOMENT

“The Pallion Garden Terrace is a key part of our Art Gallery of NSW campus. As an open, civic space, it provides a welcoming place for the public to engage with art and feel at home. It's also a stunning example of landscape design by Kathryn Gustafson, where architecture and nature meet.

“Just as we all cherish memories of specific artworks and museum spaces, we envision the Pallion Garden Terrace becoming a beloved space for visitors and families over generations. It will not only offer a beautiful setting for people to engage with art but also serve as a location for significant outdoor collection works, allowing our collection to be experienced in new ways.”

– Maud Page, Director, Art Gallery of NSW.

The Pallion Garden Terrace represents a pivotal moment for Sydney as it truly embraces its position as Australia’s global city. This terrace signifies the completion of a unified art museum campus that will offer public experiences across open spaces and gardens that are free and accessible to all.
